hello there i just bought a 1991 sportster 883 and i'm just wondering if any seats will fit from other models? i see so many seats marketplace

 

Most any Sportster seat from 1982-2003 will fit, but seats from other Harleys won’t.

 

I bought this for my 48 on eBay and have no clue what seat it is. It has a HD logo and sure does seem nice. Much larger than stock and actually is a little hard to check oil. It’s also much more comfortable. Less than 150 so I feel pretty lucky.

 

For the most part you can use seats from other rigid mount Sportster models/years but it can be a little tricky as it also depends on what tank you have as well. I went through several seats from earlier years on my 2003 before I found one that fit right. The tab that holds the front of the seat in place and the rear tab that bolts to the fender did change slightly on the seats it appears over the years so I had several seats that technically fit but not well.

 

is there any other pannier seat for any hd that will work on the sportster S. The seat they offer is so small !!!

 

why is there a forum for touring bikes.cant youtour with any that have panniers; assuming you want to store stuff !!

Will the sportster S with panniers and fitting with rear pegs work ?
I see the corbin seat is big; comfy; along with pannier seat. This is ok to not interfere with the rear sissy bar rails ?
