IF. you're looking for a "backroad experience" when taking RT 3 out of Beckely and just before you enter the town of Whitesville, there's a "T" intersection at Clear Fork Rd. (One Stop sevice station just past thius intersection on RT 3).
You can take Clear Fork Road all the way back to RT 3 (called Harper Rd in Beckley) by staying on the pavement while passing through the commnities of Dorothy, Ameagle, Artie, Clear Creek and you will then cross over Spruce Mtn (NOT Spuce Knob).
When you come to the next intersection (under the expressway) turn right at the stop sign and keep goiing until you pass under the expressway again and shortly afterwards you will come to another intersection (Sand Branch Rd & Dry Hill Rd) keep going straight on Dry Hill Rd and it will take you back to RT 3 (Harper Rd) within a mile or so town.
IF you decide to take this route, fill youir tank at the One Stop in Whitesville, there's only ONE gas station (Clear Creek) until you get within a mile of RT 3.
