Default Braking questions

I need some input here.

Being a rider coach, I get many questions regarding CT's on motorcycles, in the classroom. I don't personally have and experience with CT's on bikes, so I ask this~

1. Has anyone noticed any difference in braking with CT's vs. traditional tires?

2. How about in the wet?

3. Do "darksider" riders enjoy shorter (or longer) braking distances?

4. Riders with ABS, do you notice any difference vs. traditional tires?

5. Add'l brake pad wear vs. traditional tires?

I've read within this section about the turning/leaning transitions of a "more flat profiled tire" so this has been covered, but I don't see much on braking.

Thanks for any/all input.

Good questions. I'm thinking about switching for the mileage and run flat, so I'll be waiting for answers also.

braking is better in all conditions. Haven't noticed any accelerated pad wear.

Default Traction

A car tire provides more traction on wet or dry roads due to the softer rubber.

Improved braking, better wet road traction, smoother ride, increased load rating, longer lasting cheaper tires are all benefits of the dark side.

Braking is hugely better with a car tire. Both in dry and wet conditions. It is not even close.

For those that have gone to the dark side on the front tire, have you noticed a difference in braking vs. a motorcycle tire? I find this info very interesting. Thanks again, all.

Default Double Dark

Going dark up front is still using a motorcycle tire. It's just that you use a tire that says "for rear use only" up front.

I've never heard anyone using a CT up front.

I used to be able to lock up the rear tire on my 2016 RGU when I had a MT on the rear. Now, with a CT, its very hard to lock it up. It just slows me down a whole lot faster.

Thank you for the clarification. I did not realize the front darkside tire meant an MC rear tire fitted. Interesting.
