Default Asymmetric tires

I've started my research into the newer asymmetric tires and have found some older threads. Just thought that I would try to get a few newer responses. I can understand why an asymmetric tread design would be fine for a 4-wheeled vehicle but wonder whether there is any detriment to running one on the azz end of my Road King. Thx!!

I would think first off it would look kinda strange, as though you didn't have much choice in the tire you put on the bike.
As far as performance, I would think it might handle different when turning right or left.

Definitely strange looking. Just wondered if anyone is running a strange looking rear tire.

I have the exact same question. I have heard of folks running asymmetric tires on their bikes with no issues, but it just seems wrong.

I don't think there would be a difference in handling unless it was just a drastic difference across the tire. That being said. I'm tire shopping now and it will definitely be a symmetrical directional tire.

PF, how's that Gmax holding up?

Just traded in the 2011. Going to sign papers and pay money Thursday for 2018 CVO Limited.

I got just over 20,000 miles on the first GMax and had 6,000 on the second. Handled fine, I liked it. That said some folks say the side walls on the GMax are too soft to be the optimum dark side tire. I am thinking about a Yokohama Envigor run flat for the new bike.

PF,
I have 28000 on a Yokohama Avid Ascend and its time to change.
It's my first CT I have run. I like the ride and how it handles. I run it between 28-32 depended on load (camping gear) and 95% time 2 up but really don't think the extra psi. I think it was more mental and since I run Darkside you know I have to be mental. LOL

I am planning on running another but also looking at what others are running.

Congrats on the new ride
