Here's an excellent article from road and track, why ct's are so superior to mct's

Thank you, that was a great article that I (and everyone else?) apparently missed.

I definitely see it for long distance highway touring. But, I’m still concerned about the “squareness” of car tires ability in the tight twisted.

You can be as concerned as you feel like being.

Car tires have been proven (to my satisfaction at least) over and over to have no issues at all on the twisties. I have taken mine on the Dragon, the Cherohala, the Hell Bender and Ohio's 555 not mention a bunch more famous and not so famous twisty roads. None of my riding buddies ever had to slow down to wait for me.

Just to show that I put my money where my mouth is I plan to put a car tire on my new bike as soon as I get it home.

I know its hard to see, but that is a GMax 205/55-17 car tire on the back of my old bike.

concerned about twisties, I drug my vance and hines power duals pipe, 2 up on the Beartooth highway, no problem. with my ct. Don't see how you could need more than that and if you do, you'll be in a pretty big wreck.
Go on youtube lots of videos of guys dragging off parts with CT's. To me there is absolutely no difference how far you can go, only difference is you have more rubber on the ground on tight curves so it's safer. Have witnessed it many times when my buddy and I ride the mountains, he has a gold wing and darkside as well.

Watching the video's will help quell your concerns, and this picture shows the contact patch of a CT vs a MT. (swiped from a video)

Personally I have carve up many many many twisties and curves and never had a problem with a CT be it on dry or wet (rain soaked) pavement. With an MT, I always had to proceed with caution especially on rain soaked roads.

For the OP, thanks for posting a link to the article. It's a good read for both Dark and Light Sider's alike in my totally unbiased opinion.
