Default 195/60/16 no clearance on left side. HELP!!

Finally decided on Yokahama 195/60/16 on my 2009 Road King. It should fit, you say. It's only 15 mm wider than the stock 180. It's rubbing on the belt and clears the left side of the fender by only a hair. I just installed it and haven't had time to do a proper search of my problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Bike has ABS if that makes a difference. What could explain my dilemna? Thanks in advance, guys/gals!! Rob

While I was out looking at tires for a friends bike a couple weeks back, I noticed that there were several brands that we looked at that had a bulge in one of the side walls. The tire tech said that a lot of manufacturers were doing this now and he referred to it as a built in rim protector during the mount process. This could very well be your issue.

Has anyone else out there experienced the same problem? 55 reads and no other mention of bulging rim protectors.

Ha...so if I was to reverse the tire on the rim, the 'bulge' would be on the opposite side and not create a problem? I thin you might be foolin me, Lucy. I'll keep looking for answers but thanks anyway

Did you forget to put the spacer back in on the left side while sticking the axle back in?

yeah, and that is only covered by the tire warranty if you do the mandatory air changes every 1,000 miles.

Someone here shared this with me . It may help you compare your stock tire and what you installed.
