#11
Hi mate,
Is very easy to fix.
This most common problem for windows 10.
First thing you should hook up your VCI to laptop and bike next hit run button.
You will hear nice sound of fuel pump and beep from laptop.
Next on laptop go to device manager and check all devices. Try to find Super tuner should be question mark or symbol which is showing you device have issue.
Please click on device and hit update driver.
Next browse your computer after driver which hey already on laptop
c:/program files/super tuner/vci
dont go inside of VCI folder
click OK and next
drivers should be install and you will be ready for tune
Enjoy

Drivers appear to be up to date, no question mark or symbol, windows reports back that the best driver software for your device is already installed.
When i run software, it again wants to update vci and crashes.
get error message:
mscorlib
system argument exception
source array was not long enough. check srvindex and length and arrays lower bounds
stack trace .....and more.
I've been poking around the forum and found a post by david mardis, who suggests using an earlier version of software.
Any other ideas?

Yes usually is happen if you try to Update VCI which is very old (first black version) and he was doing vci update twice (1 of 2) and final update.
In my case I changed USB port as was conflict.
I thing installing previous version will change nothing but is worth to try.
Do you have second laptop or PC.
if yes install software on another unit and try again.
If everything will fail be prepare your VCI unit can be logical damage.

I wanted to update this thread with a solution. I faced this issue this weekend and it took me a while to figure out.
I used my work laptop that i'm not a local administrator on. Since I'm in IT and can give myself local admin rights to install i didn't think this would be a problem.
I "ran as administrator" My install and still got the above error.
I don't want to be to technical. But essentially i had admin rights to install the program but not to interact with the drivers. So i installed the software on my personal desktop with no issues.
i went to where the program installed (on my personal desktop) C:\Program Files (x86)\StreetTuner\VCI
Inside that folder were all the drivers. I copied that folder "VCI" to a flash drive and went to the device manager and installed the drivers from the flash drive on my laptop. Right click on the ? driver and update drivers and point it to the flash drives VCI folder.
So if you are seeing this issue it is likely that you don't have admin rights. If this is your personal pc and you see that pop up to allow programs to change your computer and click yes. This may be the cause. You can disable that as well. just google disable UAC.
