Default Tune or no tune....

Just got a 2016 sgs... precious owner changed head pipes with no baffle head pipes, cats still intack.. I want to put some slipons on to pick up a little sound... I took to dealer and he says no time required right now.. will I have to have a time if I add the slip one?
Thanks for helping a bro

If you're meaning tune instead of time then no, you will not need a tune.

Is that advice based on your years of dyno experience on hundreds of bikes...or just what you've read here?

The one thing I can't keep from saying is...

Every bike that comes from MoCo can be tuned better.

In my experience I've never found a bike that I couldn't improve in one way or another. With that said just swapping mufflers won't make it that much worse but it depends on the head pipe length. Such as.. (keeping it simple) a change is Softail mufflers may lead to decel pop where the same change on a Touring bike won't.

It is my belief, because I've heard it from others many times and can compare it to my experience, that at least 25% of the tune is left on the factory floor. Tuning your bike could improve your efficiency and bike manners by 15% or more. (I don't believe there is such a thing as a 100% efficient bike)

Although there are no absolutes there is always the ability/possibility to tune a bike to the better regardless if stock or mini stage 1 or more.
