Initial fp3 setup
Hey guys, sorry if this is addressed somewhere and I missed it. My fp3 will be here tomorrow, I have an 07 FXD, S&S stealth intake setup and a set of Cobra RPT's slip-ons. Should I use the generic exhaust setup or choose the Vance and Hines 3inch slashcut slipons? I have been told both will work, any idea which would be better, the directions say to choose the closest pipes to yours if they are not listed.
Thanks

I am in the middle of that process right now. 2013 1200c, Bassani 3" Firepower slip-ons.
After a couple of tries and a lot of reading I contacted V&H and spoke to Chenye. He suggested the V&H 3" slash cut map. Run several tanks of gas and then upload the map to him which I did, He tweaked it sent it back and told me to start with the auto tune which I am now. Bike runs like S***. From what I have read that is to be expected and a complete auto tune with a map that is mostly full can take 1500 miles depending how you ride. Most who have done it really like the results, I hope I am one of those in the end. Cheyne has been very helpful.

Well, I used the Vance and Hines 3 inch slash cut slip-ons as my base map and just took her for a little ride, about 70 miles. Weather outside is pretty nice, about 81 degrees and sunny. Decel pop, gone, had a slight crackle for about 15 miles on decel but after that is sounded good, I couldn't even get it to pop a little. Engine temp stayed between 228 and 234 while running about 50 to 60 mph, went as far up as 287 sitting at a light, it felt cooler to me. She is also idling much smoother and acceleration seems better and I did not have to downshift as often, much less pinging.
So, I am thinking, Just leave it alone, no auto tune. If I run auto tune, maybe after two tanks of fuel? what do you guys think?
Thanks.

drinking a couple of tankfuls of fuel is simply giving the delphi CLI/AFF processes a chance to sort out a duff tune.
Autotune either does what it says on the tin, or it doesn't. And autotune making things worse ...is NOT doing what it says on the tin.
Hopefully V&H will drop the "tankful of fuel" comment from the guidance when it comes out

No codes after this run. everythings seems to be good.
I will be riding up to Charleston later in the week, about 55 miles each way, I will run an auto tune then, that should be plenty of different running conditions.
