I recently traded in my Fatboy for a 2013 Street Bob and as I was leaving the dealership the engine light came on. I had them inspect it and they told me the light was caused by the thundermax ECM and that I didn't have anything to worry about. But after getting home and reading up on thundermax this does not seem to happen when you put one on. I am going to take it tomorrow and have them check it at a different dealer. But figured since I'm new to aftermarket ECM's I would start here. Also I have not ran the software myself to tune it I just got it yesterday.

Thundermaxes don't throw codes unless there is something wrong. Either the dealer or you can look at the codes.. One thing you'll find is that most dealers don't use Tmax.. You'd be better off finding a good indy..

 

Thundermax sucks ***. I paid $900 for one and then couldn't get anybody to tune in and the dealer who sold it to me never gave me any instruction on how to use it. Drop the stock ECM in and get a custom tune... will be one million times better.

 

Scored 3 Tmaxs from guys like you.. Cost me about 300 to 350 a piece.. Great ECM but it takes some knowledge about tuning and how it works to use.. Thundermax will continue to support them even if out of warranty or second owner..
