Default V&H FP3 Questions...

Hey all, please bare with me as I'm still new to all things HD.

I'm riding a 2016 SGS and currently have SE Street Cannons slip ons and am also getting a Heavy Breather Elite air filter very soon. I'm wondering if there's a big advantage to also getting the FP3 over the HD Tuner? Does using the FP tuner negate my current warranty and what are the chances of the FP3 screwing up my bike?

Any info would be greatly appreciated as well as pros and cons of using the FP3.

Thanks much!!

I have the FP3 installed on my ride. It does help the bike run smoother. I also recently took bike in for warranty work and left the tuner installed. For what my warranty work that was done they didn't flag it.
However if you try and tweak the engine manually and it leans the bike out and blows it up they more than likely will deny your warranty.
So basically anything you do that is aftermarket and it does something to the bike the MoCo can deny your claim. That is the way I understand it.

If the FP3 doesn't cause the problem, your warranty is good to go.

I know under the Magnussen-Moss Act this is true. But it's my understanding that the consent decree that HD signed with the EPA conflicts with MMA.

IMO it may be more restrictive on the 18's and newer. Since the outcome came about before the 18's were being sold

Another general question. Once the Heavy Breather air filter is installed, I will then use the FP3 to tune and have it running correctly? Can I then detach the FP3 or does it need to stay on for good?

Again, my knowledge of these things is not very good so I apologize if the questions are redundant or basic.

Thanks again!

You can remove it when you're happy with your tune. But of course you can't get real time info on your phone then.

Default Does the Vance & Hines FP3 help if I only installed Slip-ons

I installed a set of Reinhart 4" slip-ons onto my 2014 Road King. If I install an FP3 but don't change my air filter will it still improve the performance of my bike? I know that I need to install the FP3 if I upgrade my air filter but should I just wait until I buy the air filter?
