Got the new to me intake manifold on with the stock backing plate. It's better but still not perfect. I didn't spray it yet but it still hunts a little bit and my iac steps are better (29-32 warm). Do you guys think it could just be I would need to adjust the throttle stop? When I close the butterfly on a piece of printer paper it won't even come out. I thought about adjusting it a bit if I spray it and it doesn't leak

Set the gap with a .004 feeler gauge. That is close enough for the IAC to easily control idle speed.
If your idle hunts it's very possible you have a tuning issue. The cells around idle rpm/map/tp should be similar but not necessarily exactly the same.
If 1000 rpm is lean and it falls to 900 it will be influenced by the 750 rpm and if it's rich the engine will accelerate up to the target 1000 rpm...then run lean again and dip down to the richer (better) running and the, engine accelerates only to run into the lean cell and the dog chases its tail.
Hopefully this means something to you and help you rather than confuse you. Lol!

Hey Jason
Here's a short log of mine trying to idle just so you can see someone else TPS volts and IAC, although mine is just a 103

Jason,
FWIW, I got a test ride of an M8 114 Fatboy mid week ...it's idle was not exactly what you would call steady either. Tacho said it was running up and down between 800-900 (850 target I presume) but it felt lumpier that that ...really noticeable ...almost as if they might have programmed it that way. Either that or the street cannons they put on it without a tune messed it up

I suspect that that the main reason for the rough idle is that they run close to stoichiometric at idle. It's hard to burn fuel at that level. One of the reasons why the M8 are dual plugged.

Not to get too side tracked (sorry Jason) but I didn't think it affected take-off much, which is probably the bigger concern down there, for a street bike (although I did read a couple that managed to stall it, but I think that was maybe more clutch related)

How is she running now Jason? do you think you have her sorted?

Nope. It still has a leak. I might give up the ghost on it and take it to a my buddies shop eventually.

I am pretty damn confident it's an alignment issue with the intake and heads as far as spacing of the backing plate to set the intake with the ports
