Default 18 Heritage 114. SEPST question

Since the 114 already has a ventilator air cleaner is the street tuner really needed when just adding SE street cannon mufflers? I assume the ventilator air cleaner required some fuel adjustments from the factory. The stock mufflers and the street cannons have the same diameter outlet in the baffle and have the same number of holes in the baffle end. In other words, they look identical looking at the ends. Dont see how there can be much difference in flow. I dont want to mess with the warranty but not sure there is anything to gain with the tuner. Just seeking opinions. Changing the mufflers for looks as I dont expect any performance gains. Thanks.

You don't need a tuner - adaptive fuel will compensate just fine.

The P&A catalog and the installation instructions for the street cannons state that you must re-calibrate with the SEPST.

I know. Probably don't, but HD says you do. I think this is a way for HD to just make us pay a "TAX" on the Street Cannons. In the old days you used to have to buy a "stage one download" and pay at least labor to have it uploaded. Instead of that, now they require the owner to do it, and buy the device to do it.

Since the M8 and '18 softails are a new combination, I don't want to risk having to pay for anything in the drive train because I didn't load a different cal file when I put on the street cannons. I also put on the SE Extreme Air Cleaner so I had to remap for that for sure.

I am not sure the manufacturing design engineers and the parts engineers are talking to each other. It may take two years for them to have a conversation and update the parts info...LOL.
