Default 2008 Open or closed loop?

I have looked but cannot find the answer to this simple question about the 2008 EFI system.

Also, asking for a little more detail, is there a model year threshold for siginficant changes to the Twin Cam EFI systems in terms of which is ECU used?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the information.

What is meant by "capable"? In factory delivered form, which is used?

I have looked for the O2 sensor(s) on my new--to-me '08 Road King and cannot locate it.

As delivered, sections of the map are closed loop. Mainly cruising rpms and loads. Outside of these parameters, it is open loop. Tuning devices allow the tuner to decide what parts of the map are open or closed loop— therefore the statement “closed loop capable”. Your 2008 model should have O2 sensors in the exhaust. If not, someone may have chosen not to be closed loop capable via a tuning device.

Look on the cross member of the frame above the voltage regulator. Is there a two pin female plug? Might find one by looking on the right side of bike by starter. These are the plugs that the O2 sensors would plug into.

Capable is misleading. A 06 touring is capable, but that can get confusing for this discussion.

easy way to tell is if there's O2 sensors in exhaust it's closed loop. If not it's open
