HARLEY: Still runs like crap after Dyno tune

Still runs like crap after Dyno tune
Long story short, took 103 to a 107, ported stock TB also. Could not tune out a hiccup at around 2800 rpm when cold. Once hot it’s not there. Make a stop and bike cools and it’s there again until it gets back up to temp. Took it to the only close dyno (a dealer) after the break in miles. . The dyno smoothed out the curves some but did not get the hiccup out. I have a short cold start data file recording from a SEPRT. Is there anyone that could look at it to point me in a direction to go? Dealer won’t get me back in until the weather warms up which will be in April and I’m looking to take the bike to Daytona in March. This is my dyno sheet and you can see it goes lean in the area I’m having the cold motor issue. I’m also not too confident the tech at the shop was really all that competent. He also had my knock control set to off and when I asked why he told me that 2013 Touring 103 did not use the ability to detect knock. Before I go back in to complain I’d like to have some facts.

Yes I have the SEPRT. Looking at the tune the warm up enrichment, throttle progressivity and some other settings are untouched from the base map. I would think that those settings should have some type of change with opening up the TB.

Unfortunately the only way to properly tune a bike that has been modified is to either learn how to street tune which can get it close OR find a tuner who understands the system and will identify and correct any and all running issues.
Keep in mind tuners are people just like mechanics and doctors...you have the good, knowledgeable, experienced ones that can fix any run quality issue and those who can’t even identify when and where in the calibration the issue(s) occur.

What you are looking at in a dyno graph is nothing more than what the engine is doing and the AFR @ WOT! So it tells nothing about any running conditions other than WOT. There is absolutely no way to extrapiulate proper part throttle settings based on the WOT graph.

Exactly. I have the data log also but that’s not a pic it’s a file. You have a person that will tune a bike with a SEPRT AND that knows how to use the dyno brake to change the settings under 3000rpm??
