At $300 the FP3 is really a budget turner abpnd a good deal. To put things into perspective, consider what MOCO charges for a new flash. Nuff said.

SuperChips makes a product called VIGILANTE. One of the features is that when you return your bike back to the stock calibration, the flash tuner unlocks from the VIN. This is a feature that SuperChips builds into all their flash tuners. Cars, Trucks & Harleys.

I just ordered mine. Very excited to be able to have control over everything without a $300-$400 dyno run and/flash from dealer.

Right from the Vance & Hines FAQ
How many motorcycles can I tune with my FP3?

Answer: Each bike you tune will require a different FP3. The FP3 will “marry” to your VIN when you flash a map to it the first time. After that, the FP3 will not be able to flash any other bike. You can still use it to read diagnostic trouble codes or display live data on any CAN bus equipped Harley.

I knew there was a reason I kept my carbureted bike... much cheaper to change a jet.

Buyer beware, This is pretty much standard for most tuners that do Auto Tuning. Sorry for your dilemma though.

It might be cheaper, but there is certainly more work involved in changing jets. Also, with an FI bike, you don't go for a ride and get off smelling like a gas station.

Technology, it's what's for dinner

Call FuelPak and they confirmed. What a load of ****. I've had a ton of car, truck, and bike tuners in the past and have never seen a tuner that won't flash to stock, unmarry, and be able to be used on another bike or sold.

I'm pissed and just wanted to pass the info on to those who are considering the FP3.

That is pretty much the norm

What dude doesn't research something in-depth before buying...bet you're good at directions too.

JK, FP situation's old news for most HD owners, but the method they operate isn't necessarily a bad thing. If your bike's running good then leave it be...JMO.

I just read the manuals for Vigilante and they contradict what you are saying.
