.... and got ripped off for the first time.

A friend and I go up to the Webster Swap Meet and share a vendor space 'cuz it's always more fun to got with a bud. Anyway, a few hours into it my buddy says, "hey, did you sell that rear master cylinder I had?" I had not. But gone it was none the less. Evidently while we were each busy talking with a passersby, or making a sale, or when one of us was out perusing the pickings at the other vendors someone actually walked right up and pinched the bloody item off one of our tables. What form of douchebaggery and tomfuggery is this? In all my years of swap meets never once has this happened to me or someone I was with. Where has all the "brotherhood" gone - I ask ya?

Scum is everywhere. When I was relocating from CT I told someone my wife was having a garage sale and they told me people target those to steal your stuff. What a world!!

 

Dude, that sucks. I hate that kind of crap. I believe in honesty and getting what you work for.
I will say that I did pretty well shopping at Webster this weekend. My first time going when it was packed. Holy cow there was a ton of stuff. Next time I will stop and say high. Maybe work security.

What part of CT? I'm from there.

 

I get up there 4 maybe 5 times a year and it was definitely vendor heavy this month. And I saw a lot of customers walking around but I'd say less than half of them seemed to be actually buying. I'm usually under the tree in U3 but this time I was right near it on the main road in space U2.

 

Born and raised in Thomaston but bought a house and lived in Torrington for 22 years.

 

I'm from Milford. Left there in '87. I really miss the quaintness of a small New England town but I don't miss the snow, the sleet, the political climate nor the glut of real estate development. It's like there's no privacy any more.

 

I hope I am not riding behind whoever stole that master cylinder when Kharma kicks in...
