Default Registering a bike that has an engine with different Vin #

My Father has a 2005 FLHTCUI that he had to replace the engine with one out of another bike. (When he registers as a Florida resident next year) what hoops will he have to go through registering the bike with a non matching engine?
The bike had the original engine in it when he purchased it in Ohio, so nothing has been mentioned to the DMV here.
Just wondering if it will be a hassle, and what will need to be done. Thanks

Don't know about FL, but in WA the VIN on the frame neck is all they go by

In Tennessee nothing would be changed. The registration is based on the VIN on the frame. They don't go out and check to see if you have a numbers matching bike. Wouldn't matter if they did. Nothing wrong with swapping a motor out.

Neither one of you are Florida residents, and this is the "Florida Crew" forum. Thanks for your input though.

If you don't want comments from helpful (or trying to be) people, call the damn DMV.

I want information from "Florida Residents". That is why my post was made in the "Florida Crew" forum of this website.

Let's put this topic to rest ...

I'm a "born-n-raised" Florida native and FL Crew member.
I've registered many bikes since the early sixties,
none of which ever required anything more than
the vin number located on the frame neck.

Ride safe - Bob-

Brought my RK from Connecticut last year. When I registered here they just looked at the VIN on the frame. Good Luck.
