hi guys,,well here is the situation on my ride..i kept getting that vacuum leak from intake manifold,,so i changed out the seals...then i also changed the carb. seal...it seemed to help but i was not sure..but i kept getting blow back from carb filter...in the mean time i changed out my cam cover gasket and cover, that the chrome was chipping off of...but to do this i had to take off the exhaust pipes..so while that was off i changed the exh. gaskets..and to my surprise it was pretty easy. a little patience but i got it done,,tested with soap and water and NO leaks.....not back to the carb..as i sat on the bike warming up,,the bike would lean to the left and run like crap...when i sat upright the bike ran somewhat better...soooo i thought man there is something with the float/ ?? so i took the carb apart on bottem end,(floatbowl) and wow,a mess of crap was laying in there,,i cleaned it all up..sprayed it all out,,new low speed jet installed and cleaned and removed the 190 main jet..started it up,,and BAM! bike is running excellent,,it idles just right when i turn idle screw,,and also idle/air mixture screw...i sprayed carb cleaner around the seals..carb and intake and not noticable speed increase..bike is running nice now.....so in summation..i can only think that at some time,someone took off the petcock and put that gas line back for a bit allowing some junk to get into the carb bowl..then re-installed the petcock with strainer..stopping more dirt...i have to get the tank cleaned out i assume as this may clog the new Golan petcock i installed ..thanks all for your help..and YES,,i got the bike reg,,and it all worked out great,,and i have INS..haha ..ttyl... luv ya man...

hi all. back again ,,bike is running smooth,,,,, now its in shop for new tires and wheels getting powdercoated,,,,have to see my guy today he says wheels are done..so should be in the saddle soon....will update with picts asap!...ttyl weather is breaking and good time to ride...FO SHO!..

 

There are some nice uncrowded back roads with hills must north of Alachua. 241 north of 238 left on 240 then north on 245 is one of my favorite little sections.

 

update...lol...found out a lot of issues were from my Tank failing with rust and inner lining deteriorating...which in turn clogged the carb..and also that plus who ever had bike before me..removed the petcock valve screen,,, damn!... in any case i got the tank cleaned and re lined,came out great...then i cleaned and rebuilt the carb.. next i am going to replace the cam chain tensioner shoes to stock or the hydraulic shoes..(no gears to $$ for me) but i need the inner cam chain bearing removal tool..and also the cam shoe removal tool to..so anyone who has these items to rent or sell? pm me...thanks all for suggestions...
