Any weekday riders in my area

Probably you need to do some brushing up, quick stops , slow tight turn maneuvers,
Read up on finding the line in a turn, counter steer and stuff like that. No need to be a follower.
If you love riding you will find the crowd mentality boorish.
Most of em cant ride, are white-knuckled at, 45 MPH and too stupid to mover over when a faster vehicle gets in their review.
In fact they are probably too scared to look in the rear view.

Have done a number of rides with others and some in fairly large groups...no difficulty keeping up or maintaing my line.
Not sure what you mean by "No need to be a follower". I do enjoy riding for the sake of riding and do a lot on my own. However, I also enjoy riding with just one or two others.
Since I'm fairly new to the area, I was just thinking there may be a few others in my situation the might like to get together durring the week for no specific reason, just ride and enjoy some company, thus the reason for this post.
Also, not sure who you are refering to in your last paragraph...cause that ain't me.

Because I had not ridden for a long time I've done a lot of the brushing up you refer to. Almost every time I go out by myself, I wiil will spend some time practicing in a parking lot near me doing slow tight circles, figure eights and the like. Feeling quite comfortable with these slow manuvers, and have no difficulty with quick stops or riding at highway speeds alone or in a group.

Riding in a group is the great "Van Gough" for covering a lot of problems with blurry brush strokes.
Ask yourself how many feet does it take to stop at 60 MPH.?
Do you know-
Is Counter Steer a reflex?
Or, should it be worked on as an emergency move also?
When was the last time everyone practiced emergency stops?
What line should you pick through: "most" turns"
Be a Pilot , not a rider. is all I am saying.
Don't be happy with just holding a line.
The other guy will probably run over you anyway
if there is an emergency as he not EVER practiced anything.

You will find most people don't have a clue.
