Riding to Panama City Beach
We are riding to PCB for New Years Eve.
I generally take 19/98 north along the coast then in Perry keep on 98 and hit 267 to 20 then 231 and drop down to PCB.
Thinking maybe keep on 98 right into PCB.
That will take me through Mexico Beach and along the coast.
How's the riding on 98? Slow, traffic, not worth it?
Figure the hurricane may still have some effect along that route?

I had a conference in Destin two weeks ago. I always use the 98 / 267 / 20 route. Blountstown and Clarksville look like a war zone. They are still cleaning debris from the shoulders.
Last May we rode back from PCB rally taking 98. Beautiful ride if your not in a hurry. Some traffic in places and 98 can be a road race with all the trucks closer to Perry. I can't speak to 98 now after Michael. However I would assume even if the road is passable there may be plenty of construction and equipment in places.

We are in Largo but not much for group rides.
Anyone know the speed limit on 98 along the north coast?

Took off Friday. Spent the night in Cedar Key, we both like it there.
Left CK Saturday morning and road 98 to Panama City Beach. heavy fog in the morning.
Mexico Beach is beyond description! Pictures and news reports do not even come close to the devastation we saw.
98 was open the whole way. There were some repairs in the road where it had washed away but mostly it was good.
Heavy fog coming home till Perry.
805 miles round trip.

Thanks RB. Pretty amazing.
It is bewildering to me the entire concept that when people see/hear abt the damage of others loosing their homes and businesses, etc... then the news switches to something else. Moments later is for all practical purposes out of the viewers mind.
But (and that is a big but), those who lives it DIRECTLY EFFECTS it is not in and out their mind. It is a milestone in their life.
My mother used to say RB, "It depends upon whose bull is being gored." <-- Boy was she right.
THANKS mate for the vid. Freaking wow..........
