Default How is the Florida Crew holding out?

Just wondering how things are going here. Seems a little dead lately.
I moved from Florida in 2012 to Arizona. Before that I had a lot of amazing times with some lifelong friends that I will never forget. I look around and don't recognize most of the names here. Do you still all get together for group rides and explore Florida, Georgia, SC and NC? We used to ride several hundred miles just for lunch and to get together with friends. It didn't seem to matter what part of the state you were in, if you posted a ride people would come from all over just to ride and ride some more. I have a lot of great memories and friends. I'll post some pics of some of the places and people when we got together. Maybe some of you can do the same.

We used to have crew parties once in a while

yeh it's not like it used to be but the rally is still great. We moved to rally to Palatka about 3 years ago and it's pretty well attended with lots of old Crew still coming.

Maybe having it more centrally located would be a better draw. Perhaps around Lake Whales or Poinciana?

I am not moving the Rally from Palatka. For one thing it's already booked for this year (Veteran's Day Weekend) and secondly since I am the only person left who's organizing it there is no chance I'm going to scour the state for a hotel that is willing to take us. About 4 years ago myself, Murph and Tina (Crump) spent literally hours trying to find a new hotel that met all the criteria. Those criteria include, ample parking, reasonable rates, a bar and restaurant on site, nice rooms and willing to have a group of bikers each year. Also, they give us a hospitality suite and a large room to hold the raffle.

This year will be our 4th rally in Palatka. I really don't think a central location would change anything. Many of the Fl Crew ride up from Palm Beach and Broward and as we are probably the furthest away from Palatka and make up at least 50% of the attendees it seems location is irrelevant. Besides we are bikers and if a 4 hour ride is too far then.... well what can I say? Hugh FishheadSaid still attends and he rides from Alabama.

If anybody wants to cohost with me I would be thrilled to offload some of the work.

We always have a great time and a smaller number of attendees doesn't make it any less fun.
