Default Saddlesore 1000

Saddlesore 1000. Went back to Baltimore for the summer. Left Saturday morning at 4:30AM arrived in Baltimore at 12:30AM. 1,082 miles.
.
Google maps showed 14hrs 40 minutes, was planning on getting home before 9:30PM but the weather had different plans. Had hold up for awhile near Florence in south Carolina as the thunder & lighting caught up to me. Never before did I see and feel a 4 bolt lighting strike that was too close for comfort. Took off in the rain with some lighting in the distance which finally stopped when i got to North Carolina. Driving an night in the northeast was
taking its toll but finally got to my location.
Almost 72 years got to take 1 more item off my bucket list.

wow that's quite a long ride! My most was 600 miles from S Fl to S Carolina. It's the heat that gets hard to go further.

NICE!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Now crank it up a bit mate.

36 hours to do 1,500 miles = Bun Burner

36 hours to do 1,500 miles = Bun Burner GOLD <-- Extreme Ride. (Be careful.)

Hell of a thing, I've never ridden that far in a day, and although I've thought about it several times, I can't decide if it sounds fun or like a bit of torture.

Ether way, well done sir.

LOL. That is funny. When it cools down a wee bit, why not give it a shot? You can cut out at any time if you desire of course.

You may find it addicting.

I would not consider it fun or torture. For me it was an experience that I will relish. But everyone is different and have to ride within their capabilities.
The distance for me was not an issue as for years I have driven my car the same distance within one day. I get in a groove and feel like I can ride for hours, which I do.

As for the Bun Burner or Bun Burner Gold I accomplished what I set out to do and I do not see the need for any longer distance rides. For me being a snowbird its getting from point A to B on one of the most boing highways (route 95). Due to bad weather it took me 20 hours, heading back the end of this year my goal is to do it in under 16.

Congrats on the ride. I am planning on doing a Saddlesore, hopefully before the end of September; still just planning a course.

I'm sure it's an oversight above, but to clarify, the Bun Burner Gold is at least 1,500 miles in 24 hours or less.

All the best,

Shane

NICE!! THAT is fun to do. Just be sure not to go up and back on the same road. IBA discourages that.

And be sure to checkout their AOW which I think u already know about. I can link u there if u need me to. No worries.
