so for the last 6 months i've been throwing hints at the wife that i need a motorcycle...

and finally i think she has realized it will happen...so for christmas she is giving me the opportunity to take the rider's edge course here in new port richey.

we went to the HD dealership here recently, nice fella named scott spent about 1.5 hours answering questions, showing me bikes. oh...so i should tell you, i've driven a harley once (my dad's) and the crotch rocket type once (a friend's). so with very little experience, i plan on renting a few over the next few months in hopes i find something i like.

anyways, on the short list...(different types for sure - but i'm feeling my way through this)

fat boy lo
fat bob
heritage softail classic

anyways, during my research, figured this would be a good place to hang out and sponge up some of your knowledge.

Hmmmm. You rode a Harley and a Crotch Rocket......I see you on a Fatboy..or a Dyna Glide...maybe a Deluxe if you like 'old style'. You want to make the Mrs comfortable?...
splurge for an ElectraGlide (tourpack a PLUS).
OF course, better deals to be found if you shop privatly...depending on finances.
You can save thousands buying from an owner instead of a dealer (but sales people need to eat too).
