MSF Course - Words of Encouragement Needed.
#21
When I took the MSF course in 2004, I was afraid I might tip over like Artie Johnson, on the tricycle on Rowan and Martins Laugh In.
But the instructors take their time and do a good job of getting almost everyone in control. There was one person who didn't pass. And that was good, because she was out of control.
She'll do fine. Good luck.

I took it in '98 because I was under 21 and had to for the endorsement. What I noticed was how great it was for people that had never ridden at all. I also had 2 coworkers take it, coincidently they signed up while I was on vacation and emailing the office pics of my bike on the blue ridge! They both had a blast and loved it!
She'll do fine and have a blast.

She will do great! She will do all the wrong things (or should) in order to REALLY learn what not to do. Front-brake in a slow turn is a good example for things to never do. Doing it on a light bike (that isn't yours) is a great time to understand why the instructors tell you that.

I love to see someone push themselves. Try something that isnt in their comfort zone. If she is willing to learn and try....she already has the right attitude. You will kick a$$!
After she masters that MSF, go enroll in Ride Like a Pro, or at least get the DVD. Most riders young or old have more trouble at slow speed manuvers, parking lots and traffic just creeping along, this course pushes you to limits you never new you could master. Once you complete RLP course, your confidence on a scooter really is increased. Good luck.
