I have never come across the bad *** biker fashion patrol everyone talks about.
I have a buddy that wears chaps....yep....he wears chaps. I haven't yet been able to tell him that Jax would never do that. I can't be his friend anymore. That reminds me, I need some new white sneakers.

But that's the burning question. If you wear white sneakers do you have to ride a FX? Is it biker cool to ride a FH, even more a Road or Street Glide with white sneaks or is that posing?
I have to admit, I've never seen more threads that ragged on what someone wears or how they ride than on here. OMG you're wearing a doo rag! OMG you don't wear a helmet. OMG you wear a vest! Chaps, etc. OMG you're riding with one hand!
I haven't worn chaps on a HD, but I have a pair I used to wear for three hour trips back to the VA in 38F weather on a Shadow 750 when I had it. Or whenever the extra protection was handy. The reason they are assless is because they are a pain in the *** to get one and wear. Kind of like rain gear. You usually wait to put it on in case it's a passing shower and by the time you figure out you should have put it on earlier you're already soaked so screw it and ride on.
Ride what you want, wear what you want, ride like you like to ride. Who gives a pony's posterior what anyone else thinks.
I hope most folks have figured out this is a poke fun at the other threads thread.
Btw, since I wear square toe western boots pretty much all the time, that's what I wear on the bike. I do have a set of 1890 vintage reproduction western boots that come up almost to the knee. Those got use riding before with the pants tucked in. Worked damned good for it too. I just have to get the heels redone as it's too easy to slip while backing the bike until I do.
I do have a set of white Reeboks in the closet somewhere. Supposed to be for walking and exercising. Their still white after nearly a decade.

Lets see, chaps-yes, when its cold out really helps keep legs warm, do rag, yes, oh and lets not forget cutoff finger gloves-yes, white sneakers, - Yes, i am sure I have, but usually wear boots. Sneakers will come right off in an accident. Riding gear isn't about fashion, its about function, that is my only explanation about what people wear while in the saddle.

Riding from the last (as in no more) Twisted Sisters rally in March, 2013 I think, over FM 337 with some other SCRC members to have lunch at the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool to have lunch. Note the dusty, old skool cowboy boots. Right at home on an organic or a mechanical steed. Plenty butterflies and bugs gave their lives to add character to those boots. Oh, and the totally cool, don't care if anyone else doesn't like it, textile tank bag.
I dig riding both my FLHS and my VT1100c, but sometimes I really miss that little Shadow. After adding the passenger backrest/rack and leather tail bag to the rest of the stuff the bike was pretty well fitted to me, comfortable for long miles, and a real pleasure to ride. I guess it would have been cooler if I'd been wearing white sneaks. That weekend I would have also frozen my feet off as it got pretty cold at night at the rally.
