Yeah, not unusual to have a strip of dead grass next to the curb in spring. When I worked, car would carry enough up the drive it'd kill some grass on the edges. Garden's well beyond any salt.

First year that we lived here, neighbor lets me use his drop spreader but neglected to tell me it was broken. Laid a good heavy dose of fertilizer down...in a few weeks time the lawn was burn to a crisp. Lawn maintenance that summer was sitting on the front steps with a drink watering the lawn...best year ever.
