Small caliber semi first then the wife wants a revolver for home protection.

Here is why I mentioned the revolver. Hopefully never happen but if ever she found herself in a situation where she had to pull her piece and the bad guy somehow got it from her she can at least grab it with her hands and prevent the cylinder from turning....no capability to fire. Not so with a semi.

In any event, I have the Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 I wear when I ride. Small, easy to handle, easy to conceal. The only knock is the trigger pull is slightly longer than my .45. At the range takes some adjustment but, in a personal defense situation that really ain't gonna be the problem.

Also look at Glock. Like a tank, drop it in the mud, kick it, beat it, mistreat it...shoots every time.

So found out something pretty cool. I've been reading and listening to a lot of Jocko Willink's stuff. Task unit Commander of the most decorated seal unit in Iraq. I just found out that one of Jaxens best friends father is Vince Smit who was in the same unit. He was awarded the bronze and gold star in irag. You just never know the company of people you are among.

I wanted a 45 but wife couldn't rack it so I went with a 9mm. Now she wants a practice semi and later a bed side revolver.
