Default Rain again

Seems like every time my friend and I plan to go on a motorcycle trip it rains. Did want to leave Monday rain so pushed off to Tuesday. We are thinking about going south, seems like the last two years it rained south had to go north NY, Maine up that way. Hope we can make it south this year. This is how we do it, pick a day to start that's no raining then a direction that not raining that go. We put on 300 to 500 miles a day depending on how many times we stop for a beer. We do all back roads when we can. Wake up in the morning look at the weather and that tells us which way to go. Like I say been trying to go south the last few years just bad weather. We are both retired and are no time line just want to get 5 or 6 days out.

Getting 5-6 days of clear/no-rain weather is asking alot. You have a touring bike...load-up the rain gear and head out. If you run into light rain - suit up (you're not going to melt) & if it gets heavy - find a place to wait it out. If you continue pausing rides for weather, you're never going to get these trips in...IMO.

I here what you are saying but some how I manage to get about 25000 miles a year on and stay dry most of the time.

West is best for no rain. Head toward the desert.

Yup. Rain expected most of the week in the Southeast. Poured like crazy this weekend.

I broke my right leg 2 1/2 months ago and by the middle of this week I'm going to start riding again. The forecast for the next 2 weeks is for rain. Wonderful timing. Looks like a carbon copy of last year.

There has been an abnormal amount of rain in the midwest and points both north, east and south. It would be a wise idea to have good rain gear, a FF helmet and a good fairing for a long trip.

Looking at weather for the week in the south of me looks ok. leave Lancaster pa Tuesday morning head to the Bay bridge into Norfolk Va than to some Town called Henderson Nc stop Or could change between Norfolk and Henderson. Next day Hillsville Va pick up 775 to97 89 18 get on the blue ridge pw along the way to Maggie Valley stop. Thursday back up to WVA some place stop than home Friday. We don't like to be out darning the weekends. By the time we get home maybe 1600 miles or so.None of this is must do so things will most likely change as we go.
