Where do you put your gas cap when fueling up?

Where do you put your gas cap when fueling up?
Just curious. When I refuel my Street Glide I put the cap upside down on the pump. When my wife refuels her Fatboy she puts it upside down on her seat so she doesn't scratch the top.

I hold it in my left hand and use it to catch any gas drips, when I remove the nozzle.
I'm always in a rush. If I put it on the pump, I'd probably ride off without it.

I usually grab a paper towel and put it on the pump.
