Apparently they haven't read the posts on two guys riding a Harley....shame on them!!!
Wait, I did not read that thread. Was there a ruling on two guys on a bike with one in the sidecar? Would it be OK if there were only one guy on the bike with one in the hack?
Off topic, sorry, but I understand your frustration. If I was still in, I'd stay clear of the base with the bike. It's crazy. I know statistics show that accidents involving servicemen are high, but were those accidents on bases? Or are you required to wear that stuff all the time, even off base?
The accidents are not on bases. What happens is that service men come back from surviving a war/conflict and feel like superman. Buy a bike...go real fast...no experiance and they get real dead. That is why things are cracking down with military bike riders.
Yep active duty are supposed to wear the gear all the time on or off post. Technically if I got killed in an accident with my skid lid on than the SGLI would not have to pay out....same thing if someone got killed because they were DUI....they usually do payout though. I still have extra life insurance with AAFMA and State Farm just in case. We had a mandatory battalion ride. It was off post in civilian clothes and we had to wear all our gear in the summer....long sleeves and gloves. It was ridiculous. Even though we all had MSF cards we still had to prove that we could ride our bikes.....sorry for hijacking this thread OP....maybe this should be another thread by itself....
