Whatever floats your boat. Funny tho, 3 years ago, when age 10, my daughter commented about the Harley next to us at a light whose owner was busy blapping the throttle while slowly scanning the area ahead.....anywho she said
"Oh look Daddy, he has nice tassles on his handlebars, sort of like the pink tassles on my bike!"

I figured it out...The tassels on the bars are where the inexperienced riders would know when to put their feet down...When the tassels aren't blowing in the wind that means the bike is stopped...put your feet down.

Its like a cats wiskers. Helps with balance and so you always land on your feet.
