I think so. Granted, I don't do this often. But the times I have squared up with one at an intersection and the guy wanted to go, I always have them for the first 70 to 100 yards. If they can ride, they take me after that, but not by as much as you would think.
But I am no physics expert and don't typically race. I just think the Harley torque, from a dead stop, is hard to contend with.

Well, if the same person was riding both bikes then maybe. But there are way too many variables to know for sure. Is the crockrocket stock? What size engine? What type of pulley are on each? Its just really tough to say without knowing all the specifics....and one of the greatest variables is rider ability.

A 2013 Yamaha FJR Sport Touring bike is stock at 89 ft lbs of torque and 124 horsepower and weighs in at only 637 pounds.
I'm betting on the Yammy against my Dyna.
A stock Kawasaki Concours Sport Tourer cranks out 102 ft lbs of torque and 138 horsepower, and weighs 688 pounds.
I don't think any Harley with stage I is going to beat it off the line or through any gear.
The BMW K1600TL Touring bike puts out 129 ft lbs of torque and 160 horsepower. (dayummm)
Price-wise, the Yammy and Kaw are about $19,000 and the Beemer is $23,000-$25,000 (the BMW has all the toys on it).
Both the Yammy and Kaw are electronically limited to around 150 mph.
Those bikes are all set up for touring.
A true sport bike will turn even higher numbers.
A Harley is what is and that is why we love and ride them.
Dickey has it right. If it bothers you, you are riding the wrong bike.
(can you tell I've doing my homework on adding another bike to the stable?)

Sport Bikes are hard to launch without lifting the front wheel. I have run several not only on the street, but also at the strip. I have a 2400 pound car pushing almost 600 hp and tq, and it has the same problem with traction. A rolling start on either a sport bike or in a car with traction issues is much easier. I have played around with a few sport bikes while on my Lo, and most of them can't launch for ****. I can usually beat most of them for at least a few hundred feet.

Can a skinny chick eat throughout a package of Oreos faster than a fat chick that hasn't eaten all day?
