Simple. A real biker is a guy that rides regardless of weather (obviously heavy snow/tropical storms are the exception). A motorcyclist might only take it out on Saturday, wash/wax it, then ride out to a watering hole to get together with other enthusiasts. A biker feels it's the ride- not the destination that really counts.
Some of the guys will say crap like "anyone with a windshield is a poser" or "chaps make you a weekend warrior" or "only real bikes have kickstarts". Phuckem. Real bikers do whatever they want, regardless of what people think.
I went to a rally recently where it was drizzling (in SoCal) and saw a bunch of guys get out of their cars and put on their colors to come over to the event. In a case like that, I would say they were the only "posers" out there, only because 1) they went to a bike event in cars, and 2) they called themselves an MC but were scared of water.
