Other than residual insurance & medical costs, I've always felt if someone chooses not to wear a helmet that has little to no impact on me. It's their choice & I don't think any state should dictate to a rider a requirement to wear a helmet. And the argument of comparing helmets to cagers' seat belts is shallow considering there are 55 times more cages on the highways than motorcycles.

He could have been on a road trip possibly seeing the gear on back. I still like the pic but I would never do that personally. Also, I could care less if someone chooses to ride w/o a helmet. It's their choice.

Use to hate seat belts till I was run off the road while it was snowing in a jeep. Rolled the jeep and landed on the wheels. Wasn't that bad as I almost got stopped before rolling, but sure glad those belts were on. Sorta feel the same about my helmet. I don't think anyone has the right to say I gotta, but l'd wear it anyway. Never can back up that split second.

This only gives a little peek at what the nay sayers what you to know(same people who have never rode a motorcycle),many facts point to a lot of other factors, one is unendorsed riders, inexperienced riders, and the list goes on,2012 and 2013 and 2014 saw the death rate go down even though registrations increased dramatically. Also more riders that died were wearing helmets than those that weren't. Yes I wear a helmet

Mixed feelings on Helmets. I wear one so does everyone in this family . Not required in Wisconsin. While I feel they are a good idea, I have issues with a government wasting their time enforcing a law requiring them.
Riding with out a helmet is foolish, however we have a right to be foolish.
47 years of riding, when I started they were required, then the law was repealed. I did ride for a while without one but time and experience, resulted in me putting it back on.
Deer hunting 2011 RGU frame broke in two places, right shoulder right ribs, collar bone ect.
Still rode my 1996 FB with the help of some duck tape the next day. Clearly with out the helmet my wife would have be a bit lonely .
