I am looking for recommendations for strobe lights to add on my HD Electra Glide. What I would like (prefer) are duel color (amber & white) strobes for the front and the back. Anyone done this and have any suggestions on 'brands' and mounting techniques?
I purchased mine from AutoZone. They are the 3"x4" multi-color strobes. Two going forward, and one to each side all at the handlebar level.
With the emergency flashers it looks like a Christmas going off. Thought about something in the rear, but never have done anything there.
I do have a "wig-wag" for the passing lights but haven't put that in yet.
You can also look at something from and for law enforcement. Just not pretty blue ! There is some stuff that is designed for mounting on Police bikes, but tends to be expensive.
There is a lot of strobes on line, just do a search. Almost everything you will have to design a mount and control. I like the wireless control.
1) The wig wag spots are controlled from a circuit I made
2) The front flashing amber is mounted under the tree, via a custom bracket, and is controlled by an on switch, and mode switch. Purchased from Amazon:

3) The side front Ambers, are similar to the frintbine. Except only 4 LEDs, are held to the fork tube cowbells with heavy duty Scotch double sided tape.

4) The Reds on the rear fenders replaced the factory reflectors, are Whelens...kind of expensive...but extremely bright and high quality.
Note: under normal riding conditions, i run with them all on steady. At night, they light up the adjacent lanes. Although the video does not show it well, they are all extremely bright. All of the switches are mounted open the lower control panel, which is easily replaced if I ever have the need to remove them all.
I'm currently working on a solution, at least for the rear, using Kydex as the mounting base. I bought a set of 8, 12-led lights (amber and white) from eBay for $60. I cut a 4x4 piece from my sheet of kydex and molded them to fit the lip of either my bags or my tourpak. I ordered some 3-pin Deutsch Connectors, primary wire and made my harness for each light in sets of two. I plan on mounting two lights on each bag, side and rear or 6 on the tourpak, two each side, two on the rear. I ordered the fairing aux switches and will build a harness from the rear up to those switches. It will require two switches, one for power and one for changing the light pattern.
I'm still working on the front details, but so far I bought the LED windshield trim. I think its a Custom Dynamics. That will be part of my setup for the front. A company called Lightening Strike has a pretty good idea to mount strobes to the engine guard, but its a bit expensive for my budget. I may imitate their mounts using aluminum tubing and mount two lights, one facing forward and one to the side. Whelen has a new strobe with a 180 degree lens. It's $60 on their website but I would only need two so I may go that route.
I use a roof LED strobe on a 3' black pipe pole in one of my flag holders. Here in VA purple is for funeral escorts, I have an amber lens for other uses.
I am going to make mounts to leave them on the bike full time, They are bright and can select patterns and color. Our police don't like people to run any blue, but as long a you aren't trying to impersonate an officer they don't say anything. But I would check with your laws on that.
You can get combinations, or white , yellow, red, or blue.
