Recently the Southern California Patriot Guard was honored to help welcome home the brave Sailors and Marines of Assault Craft Unit 5 Detachment Bravo after months of deployment. We lined the hills on each side of the ramp as they landed their LCACs (Landing Craft Air Cushion- - - a.k.a. hovercraft) on the beach at Camp Pendleton. We had a great turnout of the PGR, with lots of flags, smiles, and handshakes. We then escorted these men and women to the waiting arms of their families.
It it was a great opportunity to honor heroes that are alive to see our praise versus our most typical missions. The landing of the ACUs was incredible. A few pictures below.

Another cool picture to add. Me trying to negotiate allowing me to ride up into one of the LCACs. Actually, he was explaining how to get to the best position for us to set up flags over their arrival. The Marshalls, security, and all the ACU base personnel were great to work with.
It's good to do missions for the living instead of always doing funerals. We don't have many welcome home missions, but occasionally get one where they have built a smart home for a combat disabled veteran.
