Another good mission today
We had a good mission today in the Hill Country of Texas for a US NAVY LTCDR (retired). We had members from several Christian organizations, Pistoleros MC, Blue Knights, and a large number of people that just like to ride, with no affiliation. We also had several Active Duty members, but no official military support, so the duty of Honor Guard was taken by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard out of one of the local VFW's. They had their own weapons for the rifle detail, their own bugler, and when they folded the flag, they presented a narrative on what each fold represents. They did a really impressive job. Children from some of the PGR members were taking water to the personnel in the Flag Line, and the whole mission went very well, with good, happy people that believe in what they are doing. It was the kind of mission that leaves you satisfied and proud when you get home after the long ride. A couple of pics.
All kinds of bikes in here, HD's, Hondas, trikes, and many cages. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...oodturnout.jpg The Flag Wrangler handing out the flags http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...agwrangler.jpg The Flag Line ready for the Service http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...1/Flagline.jpg The Highland Lakes Honor Guard http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...hlandlakes.jpg Folding the flag, explaining what each fold represents http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...01/Folding.jpg Presenting the flag to the survivor http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ingtheflag.jpg Regards, |
