Home made parade flag holders

Just finished this parade flag holder for my '17 RoadKing. Parts:
- 2x3 Heavy Duty Flag from Gettysburg Flag Works. I added a center grommet
- caribiner key holders
- Rivco parade flag holder
- Shortened Costco House flag pole...I wouldn't go with a full length one due to strength.
- 3" x 8.5" x 1/8" steel plate from Home Depot
- u bolts fastened with wing nuts
- 1" PVC...spilt lengthwise. Lower 1/2 is bolted to the plate.
- Painted with Rustoleum bright chrome spray paint.
I used the wing nuts, so it was easier to take off between missions. But, haven't decided if I'll do that or just remove the quick disconnect rack.
By the way, the flag on my TriGlide in my signature uses a 3x5 flag on a full length Costco aluminum pole. The pole snapped once, and replaced with galvAnized pipe.

I use stainless steel fishing rod holders with a piece of PVC pipe to sleeve them down to a 1 1/4" pole. They are $19 ea on Amazon. Just make sure you get the ones that are welded together. They will clamp up to a 1" bar so you can attach them to back rests or other bars on your bike. You do have to be careful that they can't rotate with the wind.

Just wanted to thank you for your idea ! I purchased three of the lower mount holders. This works quite well for the new comers that don't have a mount yet. Clamps right on the sissy bar posts and with a bit of rubber in the clamp to prevent damage to chrome and hold better on round tubes to prevent turning it works great. I carry all three for extras to set up bikes that don't have a holder.
Thanks !
Thanks !
You're welcome, happy to help. The idea wasn't my own, I borrowed it from another PGR member I rode with.
