THE WALL THAT HEALS
April 25, 2012
The Kentucky Patriot Guard has been invited to escort THE WALL THAT HEALS through the state of Kentucky to Lexington and then on to Richmond.
The Kentucky Patriot Guard Riders are deeply honored to have the duty of Escorting The Wall That Heals through Kentucky. Many of us have Relatives, Friends, and Brothers-in-Arms, who names are memorialized upon this Monument. Thank you for allowing us this privilege to perform this Escort Mission. It has a deep meaning for us.
The itinerary we discussed, with The Kentucky Patriot Guard Riders meeting you after you cross from West Virginia into Kentucky will be as follows:
We will stage at the BP station at exit 96 on I-64 in Winchester at 0600 hrs(6am). KSU @ 0615 hrs (6:15am).
We will meet THE WALL THAT HEALS at I-64 East, Exit 185. There is a Flying Jay Truck Stop there. That is where we will stage the Escort Detail.
The address is:
2704 S. Big Run Rd.
Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
We will be there, waiting for you at approximately 0800- 0815, with the PGR Escort Mission departing at 0830 hours.
If you want us there sooner, just let us know.
The trip then to Man O War Harley Davidson is 105 miles via I-64 (1 hr 47 min according to GPS). That is running 60 - 65 mph.
That should put us into Man O War HD at no later than 1045. We intend on handing off the Escort Missionto the American Legion Riders at that point, but will still travel to Richmond with you, to complete the Escort Mission.
The next leg will leave at 1200 hours, so that should give us enough time for any meet and greet.
Respectfully,
Jim Clendenning
