2014 Road King Classic ... higher ape without changing clutch and brake cables ?
Hi crew !
Recently I got a 2014 road king classic (the one in my signature) and it came with a very wide beach bar. I'm looking for an ape, maybe 12" or 14" is enough, but would want to know how high can I go without changing clutch and brake cable ... any idea ? Thanks.

I currently have 12 inch KST Speakheads on my 2015 RK (same cables, etc. as your 2014), and I was able to install without changing the clutch and brake cables. Some people will reroute the cables and squeeze 14" bars on with stock cables, but I personally was not willing to take that chance. Bottom line - depending on the type of bars you choose, you should be fine at 12 inches. Note that you will need electrical wire extensions, but they are plug and play. I think I paid $35 for my set when I installed them (also KST Brand wire extensions).
thanks !!!
