Default dyno tuning with 4 gas method vs. AFR

So I'm getting a full tune done over the winter and ran across Big Boyz in Maine while doing some searches. Instead of tuning for a set AFR they use the 4 gas method. It sounds like a cool approach, but I know just enough about this stuff to be dangerous. Anyone got any input on pros or cons of 4 gas vs afr? Has anyone used them and what did you think about the results? Based on what I've read, the 4 gas method may not squeeze out every last fraction of HP or torque, but it seems like the bike would run very efficiently. They also have head porting surfaces, has anyone sent their heads to them and what did you think of the results?

Don't know much about the 4 gas method other than what I read. My understanding is the same as yours is.

As for BB themselves. Been around for a long time and they are one of the best in the business for tuning as well as headwork among other services. Bean is a tuning madman..

It's the tradesman, not the tool he uses. BTW I have had tuning done with both methods.

Potential for the 4-gas appears superior, but what qtrracer said is true. Many people can play a guitar, but few play it well.....

Default Bean & Boyz

You will not go wrong dealing with BBz! Excellent quality AND service!
And they are there standing behind their work; they answer their phone and return calls. Call them, don't leave it to chance.

If I lived in that part of the country I'd be down for both their machine work and a 4-gas tune.
As it is, I'd have to trip to OK for a 4-gas tune... still considering it.
JMO YMMV. Good luck.
