777's Installed!!!
I've had all the parts sitting on the shelf for a couple months now. Been chasing down some underlying problems with the bike. Finally got that all figured out and taken care of so I decided to tear into it this past weekend. The swap was relatively easy and nowhere near as complicated as one might think. Everything went smooth as silk except getting the cam cover and tappet covers off. Those were a pain in the arse. Fired her up...no lifter clatter and she purrs like a big kitty now. Buttoned everything up late Saturday night and chose to wait till Sunday morning to take her for a test run. Only word that comes to mind is DAYUM!!!! Map still needs a little tweaking and I'm gonna need a heavy duty clutch spring cause the stock spring won't hold it. This thing pulls hard.
In preparation for this cam I installed a 30tooth front pulley in the early part of the summer. Glad I did cause it makes this cam come in around the 2400 rpm range. I'll get the clutch spring changed one day this week then I'll start tweaking the map. Money well spent IMO. 2010 Limited with some stuff |
You never said whether it is a stock 103 or it is 107 and if there had been any head work done. I am getting ready in December to order the 107 kit and am on the fence about which cam. 777 or 555 they both seem close.

Yes Doc I'm running a PV. Don't think I'm gonna Dyno at this point. Headwork isn't too far away and I feel like a Dyno right now would be a waste of money. The Butt Dyno already feels good. Once I get the clutch slipping taken care of it should be real good.

I thought the 777s like a higher compression?

Those 30 tooth sprockets will tame the big boy cams right down. If you need any help on map let me know.
