Need some lowering advice
My bike 2007 Streetglide
I previously had a 21x3.5 Ultima King spoke wheel up front with a stock 16" rear wheel With that set up I felt the bike rode like crap. I did not lower anything on bike. I kinda attributed it to the cheap price of the wheel.
I have bought a RC components patriot eagle eclipse wheel to go up front now. (21x3.5)
Main question is that I want to do it right.
I heard that lowering the front with the progressive spring kits is a good option. They seem to run 100.00 to 120.00 online.
I also saw that Burly has a kit that includes rear shocks and lowering springs for the front for 350-400 ish...
I like their products but I ride my fiancé around quite a bit and ride quality would be a concern.
What is the best way to go to rid the bike of that washy feeling up front with a 21" front and 16" rear?

The Progressive Drop in Fork Kit, is great for leveling a 21 inch wheel setup. I dropped my front end 1 1/4 inches with the kit when I installed my 21 wheel. I was very happy. The Burly slammer shocks will suck bad, if your looking for two-up comfort. With barely 1 inch total travel.....where are you going. They are 10.5" shocks. Look into better shocks than slammers, if you want comfort. And honestly, since your just wanting to level the bike and improve ride quality, stock length rear shocks, with the drop in fork kit will sit the bike well with the new 21. A good 12 inch shock will give you the ride you want and keep the stance. Whats the budget? Relacement shocks start at about $225, and go up from there. Mototcycle metal will custom tailor a set of shocks for 600-800 bucks. Progressive sell nice shocks as well, and the Harley 12" Hand Adjustables are under 500 dollars.
edit: and its JMHO, but the brand of the wheel had NOTHING at all to do with the ride. I would be stunned if a different 21 rode or handled any different.

I have a 2007 Streetglide also. I am running a Progressive front lowering kit. I lowered the front an inch. I am running Progressive 412 heavy duty rear 11.5 inch shocks. This lowered the front an inch and the rear a half inch from stock. The bike sits level now. I am running a 2010 Streetglide 18 inch wheel in the front and a 16 in the rear. I weigh 180 pounds and I ride solo 98% of the time. The wife weighs 150 and we can both ride on it comfortably with no bottoming out. The Progressive suspension is stiffer than stock but GREATLY improves the ride and handling. No more front end dive when cramming on the brakes.
