Default Trucklite passing lamp install, before I get too far, Questions

Hey guys, I have the trucklite passing lamps- model KA2247 LED lights. I also just recently received a " Custom passing lamp bracket" kit. HD brand, part number 69818-06 Auxiliary passing lamp kit. Comes with brackets, housings, wiring harness etc.

I've done some reading and when I put in the main trucklite headlight there was some fitment issues due to the size of the ring.

Am I going to have issues with fitment for the passing lamps too? I have it torn down at the moment and started assembling the bracket and noticed the wiring harness may need cut from the trucklite (which I assume it gets tapped into another power source?).

Any/all info you can provide for installation and or verify my parts are correct would be appreciated. Thanks all!

No issues with the passing lamps on a stock assembly, at least on mine. IIRC, I had to add a 1/4" female disconnect on the ground side of the circuit.

No issue with mine either. I did have to put a larger chrome ring on the headlamp to cover up the "black ring".

Do you recall where you purchased the larger chrome ring? Thanks for the replies guys.

Can any of you add some pics of the finished product with the trucklite LED's? Just looking for a normal pic of the brackets installed. Not worried about the brightness/showing the lights just more interested in seeing how the brackets fit.

Thanks again!

No need to change out the chrome ring?

G9803; Guessing you're installing this light kit on a Street Glide (no mention of bike, other than touring)? If so, the instructions are somewhat confusing. I had to read them over 3-4 times w/every step. Just follow along ans you go and they start to make sense. For the TL passing lamp(s) connection, there's an adapter to use for standard plug-in, or you can splice the wires (e.g. posi-tap). I have the TL-7 headlamp & passing lamp kit w/o TL bulbs on my 09 FLHX so it's close to your project.

For the headlamp, most just install one of the thicker HD trim rings (French or Visor) to cover gap as the TL protrudes out a bit from stock ring. I went w/Visor style (HD part# 69733-05) and you can match it with Visor-style passing lamp rings. Don't know if the TL passing lamps protrude like headlamp...I don't have them...yet. Good luck & post some pics when complete.

Hey Iceman, sorry about that! Installing on a 2006 Street Glide

The directions are confusing, not very well put together. So, like most men, I started putting it together how I see fit. I didn't get too far, ran into an issue where I needed a deep well socket (going to pick up a set or two today). Either way, wanted to make sure I have things in line before getting too far and realizing I needed a different setup. Thanks for your help guys!

I do have a question, do the passing lamps work with the high beams? I live in an area where there's a lot of country roads and have all 3 lights on at the same time? Highs w/ passing lamps would be very beneficial.

If the passing lights you're replacing aren't halogen type you will have to go to NAPA and get an adaptor for the connection to the back of the LED.
