Default Anyone use Seafoam Spray on their intake?

I know lots of folks use the liquid Seafoam in their gas, but how many of you guys have tried the Seafoam Spray in their intake? If you have, what was your impression?

Seafoams own instructions say not to squirt the MAF Sensor, and IIRC we don't have one, but don't quote me.

They claim it is sensor friendly and cat con friendly too, so no issues there....

It is an aerosol version of the stuff you pour in the tank... it should not be an issue.

Read this thread, specifically starting near the end of page 2. It references the seafoam and a couple other ideas I think you'll fine useful.

jeez just get a sensor specific cleaner- squirting oils or other petroleum products in you intake may have unexpected consequences.
any auto parts store will have what you want- and instructions on how to use.

on my truck, removing the maf sensor was required to clean it.

if you have a points ignition and a carb like most of my stuff, do what you want ( including spraying water from the hose)

when it comes to computer controlled motors, adding something which may skew the sensor outputs can be tricky not just the sensor in the intake but the o2 sensors too.

I'm the guy whose vehicle failed smog after adding SF for the 1st and last time...SF said to run a couple of tanks through- after which I passed no problem.

I doubt seafoam could be any worse than the oil Harley dumps down our air intake.

I figure whatever I put in the gas tank, goes in the intake.....besides air?
I use seafoam....niot because I have to or need to.....maybe I shouldn't. It is something I have done for many cars
and bikes. I don't even know what it does or if I need it.

HUGE difference between MM and even early Delphi systems and current EFI

Use the wrong stuff, fry a couple of O2 sensors at 200 a piece or trash a converter or other sensor and you are FUBAR'd

Personally I use MAF sensor cleaner, it is going to clean the intake tract and not destroy any sensors.

Cripes RTV gasket cement can fry O2 sensors from the vapors it gives off, so you need to watch what you pour in the engine through any opening

correct.
I mispoke, using a generic kinda term above.

we have a tmap sensor.

either way the function of the sensor is to allow the ecm to determine the density of the air ( how much oxygen) and add fuel to match.

commons sensors for this function will be

tmap- temperature manifold absolute pressure

map- manifold absolute pressure

maf- mass air flow
