I have a 2014 FLHX, I'm planning to black out all the chrome parts, I know the fairing skirt is plastic can't be powder coated, so I bought a painted one on ebay, any one know if the tank dash and rear signal housing are made of plastic or metal?

 

I did the dash on mine already and getting ready to do the tail lights

 

Powdercoated both the dash and rear light bar on mine. No problems. Have your coater mask the hinge area so that the dash and fuel door don't have clearance issues where they hinge together.

If you're looking to do any plastic parts in the future, find a coater who does Cerakote.

 

Thanks for the info, now I can start removing these parts for powder coating.
