Default 23 with no rake

Anyone have a 23 inch wheel on their bike with no rake? How's it ride? Any pictures? I've searched for a picture thread but only thing I can find had dead links.

Not sure how it would ride, but they look kinda goofy. The front end is raised up and will never sit level with the rear. You need that rake to get the front end back to level as well as to correct the trail numbers.

You will get 100 different answers on this topic. Here's my bike 2010 no rake with a 23. Doesn't look goofy to me & it rides perfectly fine, but that's my opinion. I've ridden hours on the interstate. No problem.

If you do not rake, does it cause high speed handling problems?

I have no experience with big front tires, that is why im asking

As a guy who has ridden with and without trees, I vote for trees. The 6* over stock trees move the wheel out about 2" but more importantly correct the trail on the bike allowing it to ride like stock. I have found the super beefy HHI trees increase ride stability on the front end dramatically.

And yes, I sell all the parts necessary for this conversion either way. Give me a call or PM and I can help you with what is needed.

Well I want a new wheel, the factory '11 wheel is ugly to me. It's either a 21 or a 23. I really don't want to tear everything down to rake it. Trying to keep cost and work down. Just looking for a big improvement over stock. If I can get away with a 23, id rather go that route.

You can get away with a 23" without trees but you will need to really stiffen up the front forks to ensure there is no contact between the crash bar and fender or the lower triple tree and fender. A travel limiter and heavy fork oil are both recommended. Double checking all clearances before riding is also recommended as Riding out of a steep drive way or hitting a large bump can cause the forks to compress quite a bit and on our initial build without trees we had the crash bar kiss the fender a few times.

What he said. Get the trees. I can go down the interstate at 80, cross my arms and the bike will track straight. No wobble.

Note: expect at least a $1000 increase if you do a 23" the RIGHT way.

That cost being the trees and a fender.
