Default My Monday or Friday-built Ultra...

Just had yet another issue, once again in the primary. It's now been opened up more times then it's had birthdays, but I digress... this time, I'm told an inner seal let go, which explains the drip/leak that has been going on for awhile. Took it to a local indy-shop and they replaced a seal or gasket and also the automatic primary tension adjuster due to an ongoing issue. (Previous thread, bearing-like rattle that turned out to be the primary chain.)

My question is: has the automatic tensioner been redesigned in the last 4 years? Shop told me they installed the 'new design' but I thought the 'redesign' took place for 2009.

I'm replacing my automatic tensioner this weekend with a "new design"... the Baker manual tensioner.

Sick of the noise.

The same primary chain tensioner has been used on touring models from 2007 to present. HD #39929-06B.

Edit: What I should have stated was that the same tensioner FITS the 2007 to present. I don't know when the last revision (39929-06B) was made or want changed with the revision.

I am not sure when they changed from 39929-06 to 39929-06A, but I believe sometime in 2010 they changed to 39929-06B.

Take a look at this thread for some info:

Thanks for the thread link. I got my invoice yesterday and was searching the part number listed using Google and found the same thread, which I was going to post but you already did. From what I read, this 'new design' was OEM on my 2010 Ultra, so I'm not sure why the shop told me I got the 'new design'.

I find it interesting that when I search the H-D P&A online, there is no such part number.

Thanks for your input...
