Default Rider backrest options??

Does anyone have any ideas for a riders backrest that does not go through the seat in the traditional style? My current seat which I dont want to get rid of does not allow for it. Is there a rest that has itsmounts to the side rather than through the seat?

I have seen the device that attaches tothe passenger rest mounts and then moves forward in an accordian type motion to cover the rider but it looks hokey!

Suggestions?????

I use my wife's D-cups as a back rest.

Dude...
Sorry I don't know of any back rest like you are looking for. But what I do have to say that you're scoot is one of the baddest looking theme jobs I have ever seen...WELL DONE!

The Mustang setup is really clean and looks good... but you said you like the stock seat.

You might holler @ the guy does the seat mods & see if he can cut an opening for one of the HD unit. You could probably have him re cover it so that it looks better too....???....

Hey Rob, I just got back in town and read your e-mail on this subject. I think Phil has the best idea. Have someone customize your existing seat, and maybe put a touch of red in that new backrest pad!!

Thanks fellas!

I had thought about my seat guy popping a hole in my sidekick seat but wanted to exhaust all other options first. I also thought about taking the stock seat to my seat guy and having him trim it down and give it the look I need and then only use it when I went on long trips with a rider backrest.

Doug thanks for the Protac link. I will be calling him monday. He has what I need and a photo of one on a Road King. Its a very simple bracket and like I said I dont need it for long periods nor do I need it to look all that high speed. I just need something for lower to mid back support. After about 2 hrs I am spent. Protac should be able to help me out.

AlthoughI love the look of the Sidekick and the comfort is not all that bad on short trips I havebeen looking at the Corbin Rumble seat. Ihave my kids with me quite a bit and this would be great! The pass pad on the Sidekick just does not cutit. The wife hates it and I hate the stocker so well...... she dosent ride all that much anymore. I think the Corbin Rumble with adetachable rider backrest installed for longer trips would work. I will let you know how it turns out.

I will behaving my Red Cross painted on the back of the rumble seat which should lookpretty nice.

What about Native Custom Baggers sissy bar backrest? Not the best looking up but it looks nice when it's down for solo riding. I've been thinking about something like this for me.

PAPA:
That is the one I was referring to as looking "Hokey". It looks like Shi*! I dont care how bad my back hurt I would not put one of those on. I called three backrest makers including Protac and none make one for my needs. I will be fabricating one in the near future and will make a million dollars off it and stick it to the man!

I can't believe they dont make one that side mounts for the street glide. I have seen them for Road Kings and softails. There are tons of seats out there that dont have slits for the traditional back mounts. You would think there would be more options. I will put something together and keep you posted.

Above is basically what I am looking for. I know it dosent look much better than the Hokey one but it should not be hard to make.
